Preparations were underway at a military base in Moscow, Wednesday, for the upcoming Victory Day parade in the Russian capital on May 9.

Armoured vehicles including Kurganets, Boomerang personnel carriers and Armata tanks were among the military equipment being cleaned, painted and repaired, ahead of the procession.

Victory Day is celebrated annually on May 9. The holiday commemorates the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany during WWII.
